Samsung Galaxy Tab Available – Hands-On Video, Impressions: ‘Geil!’

Posted on 12 October 2010, Last updated on 12 October 2010 by

Interesting news from Samsung Germany as they issued a press release yesterday stating that the Samsung Galaxy Tab [specifications] is available ‘from now.’ (Via Netbooknews)

We hadn”t heard of any immediate availability and the price is still a recommended 799 although street prices, as predicted have hit 650 Euro.

Checking the blogs though shows that our local friends at AndroidPIT managing to get hold of a Tab. Lucky boys! The first impressions are: ‘Geil’ which is somewhere between ‘hot’ and ‘cool’ – both in a very positive way!

We’re wondering whether to drop in on them at the weekend and buy them a beer!

..i am somehow sooo tempted to get one. but..there are some “buts”.. while i will get the htc desire HD soon – with 4.3″ screen – the screen size difference isn’t that big anymore. but a screen size of 7″ may still be perfect for a mobile device which is still very powerful but much smaller than a netbook. but then again, seeing what the galaxy tab can do..most of it i can do on my phone..so what would be the use of this tab then? don’t know..many questions, what about all of you?

I absolutely love the size. I am an iPad user. I really like my iPad. But on the other hand I never take it with me when I don’t have a bag. That means that I am not always as mobile as I would like to be.

The Galaxy Tab is for me the perfect device…

Sometimes, the Galaxy Tab seems to lag behind? I saw ThinkFree Office practically froze for almost a whole second there before coming back up.

It looks like a cool tablet device, but the performance is raising my doubts.
